It was announced in December that Simon Marcus vs. Artem Levin 3 would take place in 2016, and today Glory confirmed that the fight would happen at Glory 27 on February 26 in Illinois.
Glory 27 will take place at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The main event bout between Simon Marcus (@SimonMarcusNo1) and Artem Levin (@ArtemLIONLevin) will be for the Glory Middleweight Championship, which currently belongs to Levin.
The pair fought at Glory 21 in May of 2015 in a fight that ended in a controversial draw. Each fighter thought they won the bout, it seems fans and media thought Marcus won the fight, but in the end all it did was set up a third fight between the two. The pair had fought one time before in Muay Thai action at Lion Fight 9 in 2013, a fight which Marcus won by unanimous decision.
Neither fighter has been very active since their fight at Glory 21. Marcus tore his Achilles outside of competition and had to undergo surgery, which foreced him to spend the second half of 2015 healing up. Levin was scheduled to defend his middleweight title in September of 2015 against Joe Schilling, but an injury to his hand forced him to withdraw from the bout. Most recently Levin picked up a KO win against Daniel Alexandru at Muay Thai Moscow in Russia this past December.
Levin showed he was back to normal with his performance this past December, now it remains to see if Marcus is back to 100% after his injury.
These two definitely have a rivalry going, and we can likely expect fireworks when they meet for a third time.
