New Camera Angle Shows Just How Hard Amanda Nunes Hit Cris Cyborg

It was the first ever women’s superfight in the UFC, it lasted less than 1 minute and by God, was it amazing!

The women’s featherweight title was on the line at UFC 232 in a fight that nobody expected to go the distance. On close inspection of the Nunes vs Cyborg fight video, the punches that connected were even more flush than we first thought…

UFC 232 closed the year out for the promotion in perfect style. Two titles were on the line in the final pay-per-view of 2018, at light-heavyweight at women’s featherweight, with both fights delivering electrifying knockout finishes.

With the drama surrounding the main event, it’s no wonder fans were clamouring to see Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson’s rematch take place. As these things often turn out, their second bout was nowhere near as competitive as the first.

Jones would eventually finish the bout in the third round, whereas the co-main event of the evening didn’t even last one minute.

Amanda Nunes flattened Cris Cyborg in 51 seconds

Nunes vs Cyborg Fight Video Below

Cris Cyborg, undefeated in 10 years, came into UFC 232 putting her featherweight title on the line. Thus far nobody had come close to beating her in the UFC, and Amanda Nunes was moving up in weight to make 145 pounds.

The bantamweight, and now featherweight champion made seriously short work of her Brazilian countrywoman. The haymakers flew from both warriors but it was “The Lioness” who connected with the sweeter strikes.

After watching the UFC on FOX recap of the footage, it’s clear just how devastating those punches were. Check out the slow-mo and freeze frames as presented by Michael Bisping and the team:
