Marat Grigorian replaces Yodsanklai against Sittichai at Kunlun Fight 35

Kunlun Fight 35

Fight fans were struck a blow a few days ago when news broke that Yodsanklai Fairtex (@Yodsanklai1) would no longer be fighting Sittichai Sitsongpeenong at Kunlun Fight 35 after an injury forced him to withdraw from the bout.

Since the bout was part of the Kunlun Fight middleweight tournament everyone was left wondering if the bout would be rescheduled or if a replacement for Yodsanklai would be found. The answer is the latter as Marat Grigorian has stepped in to fight Sittichai at Kunlun Fight 35.

Kunlun FightFor anyone not familiar with Grigorian he is an aggressive fighter with the ability to finish fights. The 24 year old has been in the ring with the best of the best including the man he is replacing in this fight, Yodsanklai. As of late he has gone 8-2 with his losses coming to Yodsanklai by decision earlier this year and Glory champion Serhiy Adamchuk. Six of the eight wins have come by KO including knockouts over Aikpracha Meenayothin and Jordan Pikeur.

Sittichai enters the bout with Grigorian on the heels of his controversial loss at Glory 25. Many thought he defeated Glory lightweight champion Robin van Roosmalen by decision, but the judges saw things differently. Before the loss to van Roosmalen, Sittichai had been on a six fight win streak with two one night tournament wins in that span. In his last 25 fights Sittichai has gone 23-2 with those bouts all being against top tier competition.

Kunlun Fight 35 will take place on December 19th in Henan, China.
