Manny Pacquiao’s Brilliant Response To Mayweather vs. Tenshin

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Tenshin Nasukawa fight took place last night at Rizin’s New Year’s Eve event.

Fight fans have been highly critical of the fight, which was actually a Boxing exhibition. For those not familiar with Tenshin Nasukawa, he is a Kickboxing superstar in Japan. He is undefeated in Kickboxing with a record of 28-0 and in MMA with a record of 4-0. All of that, however, didn’t matter when he stepped into Boxing rules with Mayweather.

It took “Money” two minutes to finish their fight. After three knockdowns in the first round, Tenshin’s corner threw in the towel and called the fight. It is important to note that Tenshin fights at around 122lbs which is significantly smaller than where Mayweather fights at.

Mayweather was immediately criticized by many after the win, with some going as far as calling the fight a fix. Mayweather made it very clear before and after that this was all about money. He took the fight because he was paid 9 million dollars for what was essentially sparring for him. Love him or hate him you can’t fight that logic. Hit longtime rival, Manny Pacquiao also chimed in on the fight.

Manny was not impressed by Mayweather’s performance.

Shots fired.

Manny didn’t mention Floyd Mayweather’s name in the tweet above, but it is very clear he was talking about him. Tenshin was a smaller and less experienced opponent. Manny also made sure to remind everyone about his upcoming fight with Adrien Broner.

Mayweather and Pacquiao fought back in 2015 with Mayweather winning a decision. Rumors of a rematch surfaced in September of 2018 after the two had some verbal jousting when they confronted each other in Japan. The rumors didn’t last long and it seems both moved on, although Pacquiao has stated several times he would love a rematch.

If Pacquiao’s first post about the Mayweather vs Tenshin wasn’t clear enough, he erased all doubt with his second. He retweeted a video that said “The Mayweather/Tenshin fight is the funniest thing I’ve seen” and had a video of little kid trying to fight a much larger goat or horse. The animal then runs over the little kid.

Manny didn’t hold back on this one.

It is great to see Manny has a sense of humor. Floyd’s last two fights, although one was technically an exhibition have been against fighters with a lot less Boxing experience. Before the Tenshin exhibition, he fought UFC superstar Conor McGregor. It was McGregor’s professional Boxing debut.

You can’t blame Mayweather for taking these fights. For Tenshin he made 9 million in 2 two minutes of work. When he fought McGregor he made over 300 hundred million dollars. One thing to keep in mind though is that his fight with Pacquiao had more Pay-Per-View buys that his fight with McGregor and a rematch could top that fight. Like it or hate him, Mayweather draws a crowd, and being 50-0 plenty of people would pay to see him lose that unblemished record. Maybe fans will get lucky and we will get to see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 before 2019 ends and they are too old.
