The highly anticipated Kunlun Fight 35 took place this past weekend. The event featured the quarterfinals of their middleweight world championship tournament, which has featured a stacked tournament. Fans were hoping to see the showdown between Yodsanklai Fairtex and Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, but an injury to Yodsanklai forced him out of the fight. Fans still got a great fight between Sittichai and Marat Grigorian.
The middleweight tournament finals all went to decision aside from Superbon Lukjaomaesaivaree vs. Zhang Chunyu. Superbon was able to end the fight in round two with a knockout. The other tournament quarterfinal bouts saw Victor Nagbe win a decision over Kong Linfeng, Enriko Gogokhia win a decision over former Glory lightweight champion by decision and Sittichai outpoint Grigorian to win decision.
Fans were also treated to an 80kg 4-man tournament on the night. Artur Kyshenko and Dmitry Valent met in the tournament finals after both won their semi-final bouts by decision. Kyshenko and Valent met in a re-match from Kunlun Fight 25, a bout which ended in a split decision victory for Kyshenko. This time around Kyshenko ripped through Valent with a first round KO. It was almost immediate as both men came out firing, but Kyshenko pressed forward and unloaded a right left hook to the body then went upstairs with two more left hooks, the second of which put Valent out cold. With the win Kysehnko has now won 10 consecutive fights, half of those coming by (T)KO.
