Glory 27 is set for February 26, 2016 and as fans have come to expect from Glory, there will be 4-man one night tournament taking place.
This time around Glory 27 will feature a 4-man middleweight tournament. The fighters scheduled to compete are Dustin Jacoby (@DustinJacobyDJ), Robert Thomas (@RobThomas_WD), Mike Lemaire (@mikelemaire), and Wayne Barrett (@1waynebarrett). The semi-final match ups are Jacoby vs. Lemaire and Thomas vs. Barrett.
Jacoby will be riding a three fight win streak entering the tournament, which includes having won the Glory 23 4-man middleweight tournament. He was last in action at Glory 24 where he scored a (T)KO win over fellow tournament competitor Wayne Barrett. Jacoby has a Kickboxing record of 7-6, with all seven wins coming against American fighters and six of those seven wins coming by (T)KO.
Lemaire will be looking to build on a three fight win streak entering the tournament. Lemaire has been in the ring with all three of the other tournament fighters. He defeated Jacoby by decision in the reserve bout for the Last Man Standing tournament, but has lost to Thomas and Barrett. A tournament win would not only big for Lemaire but also a chance to avenge at least one loss in his career.
Barrett started his career off by winning his first five bouts, but has lost his last four. A tournament win is crucial for Barrett. He holds a KO win over Lemaire, but a has lost to Jacoby by (T)KO. It should be interesting to see if he can bounce back from the four fight skid. Three of those losses have been by decision and the names in those three losses were Simon Marcus, Joe Schilling, and Jason Wilnis.
Thomas comes from a Muay Thai background, but has had success in Kickboxing. His only two losses while fighting for Glory have come to Joe Schilling and Artem Levin, both of those fights going the distance.
Also announced for Glory 27 was a co-main event bout between Anvar Boynazarov (@anvar_muay) and Giga Chikadze (@giga_chikadze). This is a re-match from Glory 23 where Boynazarov won a decision over Chikadze.
Glory 27 will be headlined by the third fight between Simon Marcus (@SimonMarcusNo1) and Artem Levin (@ArtemLIONLevin) for the Glory Middleweight Championship. It will air live on ESPN 3 at 10 PM ET/ 7 PM PT.
