Spinning head kick knockouts are the best kind of knockouts

Last night’s World Fighting Championship Akhmat was an exciting event. Headlined by Aleksander Emelianenko vs Tony Johnson Jr, WFCA 50 also provided one of the most brutal spinning head kick knockouts of the year…

Moscow, Russia was the place to be for MMA fans this weekend as World Fighting Championship Akhmat put on some solid fights. Celebrating their 50th show, WFCA pulled out some big guns for fans in attendance.

Among those hard strikers was Aleksander Emelianenko. The younger brother of the legendary Fedor was featured as the main event in a grueling and bloody battle. After three rounds, the fight against Tony Johnson Jr was declared a draw.

Elsewhere on the main card was a welterweight clash between Beslan “Tiger” Ushukov and Vitor Pinto. Last competing at WFCA 43, Ushukov had lost his first fight in six against Abubakar Vagaev.

Pinto was also coming off his first loss in six prior to last night.

Ushukov’s Spinning Head Kick Knockout (Video Below)

From the opening bell, Ushukov fired off some nasty Muay Thai techniques to the head and body. Although Pinto was able to withstand the initial barrages, it was clear he was never able to find his rythm.

Before the two-minute mark, the two fighters were like contrasting images. Ushukov moved well, loose and fluid, whereas Pinto was stiff, flat-footed and gave very little in the way of offense.

Just when you thought a spinning head kick was about to come, a spinning head kick came. It was Brutal:

That was truly terrifying. Just look at how Pinto slumped to the mat while Ushukov just stood there. Great finish but not the only spinning kick KO that came during WCFA in Moscow last night.

Alexey Efremov faced Nodar Kudukhashvili in a battle of fighters with confusing names. Scoring a crazy TKO by spinning kick to the body, Efremov added to the highlight reel of the exciting event:

Another massive finish, helping make World Championship Fighting Akhmat 50 one to remember. Alexander Emelianenko didn’t lose but did have a very rough night against Tony Johnson Jr.

The Bellator and KOTC veteran Johnson was able to withstand Emelianenko’s fabled striking. After a number of takedowns and hard elbows, Alexander was looking tired and bloodied.

The fight was eventually scored a draw although it could have easily gone either way. Take a look at the state of Alexander’s crimson face between rounds:
