Conor Mcgregor’s Teammate Just Lost By Sweet Chin Music Knockout

Shawn Michaels landing his signature Sweet Chin Music.

Conor McGregor’s teammate James Gallagher came into his Bellator 204 matchup against Ricky Bandejas extremely confident.

His confidence was probably what most would call cocky. He had all the reason to be confident. The SBG Ireland fighter was 7-0 coming into his fight with Bandejas with six of those wins coming by submission. Bandejas is no slouch, he came into the fight with a record of 10-1 and on a five-fight win streak.

Gallagher was cocky to the point that it was somewhat annoying. Confidence is one thing and everyone likes it, but cocky is something people don’t like. He even went to the extent of getting in Bandejas face as he entered the cage and moved around it. It was definitely unnecessary, but you know what they say about karma.

All that cockiness is normally classified as confidence as long as you win, but when you lose it is called being cocky. Gallagher has a history of being cocky, but because he had been winning is was mostly called confidence. Well, that is no longer the case.

Cocky is an understatement.

Well, all that cockiness did not pay off for him. Bandejas made sure to make him pay for the disrespect and he did it in spectacular fashion. He decided to go into his WWE playbook for the finish when he busted out Shawn Michael’s Sweet Chin Music. It was perfectly placed and it stunned Gallagher. Some followed up punches sealed the deal for Bandejas.

There is no doubt in my mind he made The Heartbreak Kid proud with that finish. Wall that was missing was the throwback to the Degeneration X days and him busting out the DX symbol by crossing his arms into an X over his crotch and yelling suck it. Boy, do I miss the good old days of pro wrestling.

A perfectly delivered Sweet Chin Music.

I still want to see someone pull off the Stone Cold Stunner in an MMA fight, but until then I will settle for this picture perfect Sweet Chin Music. It was a thing of beauty, and what probably made it even better was that it happened to a very cocky fighter.
