Anthony Njokuani Talks Upcoming WMC Title Fight Against Liam Nolan

Anthony Njokuani will be looking to capture his first major Muay Thai championship when he take son the United Kingdom’s Liam Nolan at Triumphant 1.

Njokuani is recognized for his accomplishments in MMA, having fought for the UFC. The KO artist recently returned to Muay Thai after years of brutalizing opponents with his devastating striking in MMA. He originally started his Muay Thai journey training with legendary Muay Thai fighter Saekson Janjira and now trains with Nick Blomgreen at One Kick’s in Las Vegas.

We were able to catch up the Anthony and talk about his upcoming title fight on September 29 at the Graton Resort & Casino.

MTA: How familiar are you with your opponent?

Anthony: I’m not very familiar with my opponent I just found out about him Monday.

MTA: Are you expecting anything specific from your opponent?

Anthony: I’ve been in the fight game 20 + years so i don’t see anything new he’s going to throw at me.

MTA: What would you say is your biggest advantage entering the fight?

Anthony: My speed and movement.

MTA: What gym do you represent?

Anthony: I’m representing Saekson Janjira Muaythai and One Kick’s gym.

MTA: When did you start training and why?

Anthony: I started training Muay Thai back in 1998 but I’ve been in martial arts pretty much all my life mainly first for breakdancing then once I found the gym that was teaching Muay Thai I left the dancing world and started training Muay Thai full time.

MTA: For fight fans that have not seen you before, can you describe your style?

Anthony: My style is fast and powerful.

MTA: Is there anything about your opponent you know you need to keep an eye out for?

Anthony: He’s really good at counter-punching I need to watch out for that

MTA: Prediction for the fight?

Anthony: Predictions for this fight we’re going to give the crowd a really good show.

MTA: You are coming off a win at Lion Fight, is there anything specific you are training for?

Anthony: No nothing specific just keeping same training style not changing anything and staying in the gym for the next fight.

MTA: Any words for your supporters?

Anthony: Thank you to all my supporters my friends my family everybody at my gyms at one kick Nick and Saekson Janjira Muay Thai.
