Fight fans have been buzzing as of late for the showdown between Yodsanklai Fairtex (@Yodsanklai1) and Sittichai Sitsongpeenong at Kunlun Fight 35. Unfortunately Yodsanklai has been forced to withdraw from the December 19th bout due to a knee injury.

Thew news was first bought to our attention by Timo Ruge from Muay Ties (@MuayTi). Sources close to the Fairtex Camp informed him that Yodsanklai had suffered a knee injury that made it impossible for him to train for the bout with Sittichai.

The bout had fans excited not only because it was two top Thai’s fighting, but because it is rare to see Thai’s with their popularity and success fight other Thai’s. Both fighters had been running through their competition as of late, they are a combined 44-2 in their last 46 fights. Yodsanklai is currently on a 21 fight win streak, while Sittichai has gone 23-2 in his last 25 bouts.

Yodsanklai had defeated Dzhabar Askerov to advance in the 16-man tournament, while  Sittichai who defeated Jonay Risco to advance in the tournament and set up the match-up.

There is no word from Kunlun Fight as of yet if Yodsanklai will be replaced by another fighter or if the bout will be rescheduled to a later date. The fight is part of Kunlun Fight’s World Middleweight Tournament. Hopefully for fight fans this bout can be rescheduled.
