WLF 2016 is set for this Saturday, January 23rd in China. The fight card is stacked with fighters like Giorgio Petrosyan, Andrei Kulebin, Pakorn, and Fang Bian.
Giorgio Petrosyan (@petrosyandoctor) will see his first action of 2016 when he fights Jiao Fukai at the event. Petrosyan’s 2016 schedule is starting to look pretty busy with him being rumored for several other events in 2016 already. Petrosyan is still considered by many to be the best active Kickboxer right now, and this should prove to be a solid test to what looks to be a busy 2016 campaign for the man known as “The Doctor”. With a win Petrosyan will be on a five fight win streak.
Fang Bian, the man who made headlines in the Muay Thai and Kickboxing world outside of China last year when he defeated Simon Marcus by (T)KO will also be in action. Fighting Bian will be Cedric Doumbe, who has faced fighters such as Yohan Lidon and Yoann Kongolo.
Pakorn and Wei Rui will be fighting in a re-match from this past December. The pair fought at the WLF show and Rei won a decision in a tight knit fight, which some think should have gone to Pakorn.
In addition to some great super fights there will also be a one night 8-man tournament in the 67kg weight class. Andrei Kulebin and Nathan Robson are among the tournament competitors and it should prove to be an exciting one. Kulebin is probably the most recognizable fighter in the tournament to our readers and with good reason. The Belorussian fighter has made his name fighting some of the best around the world including Saenchai, Liam Harrison, Aegpracha, Sagetdao and many more.
