Wielzen vs. Lerdsila Headlines Lion Fight 36

Lion Fight 36 will take place on April 28, 2017 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

Lion Fight has confirmed that the main event will feature Sergio Wielzen defending his lightweight title against Lerdsila Phukettopteam.

Wielzen won his Lion Fight lightweight title at Lion Fight 28 with a third round (T)KO over former champion Ognjen Topic due to a cut. Since then he has had one title defense at Lion Fight 30, where he defeated Arthur Meyer by split decision. Since his last appearance for Lion Fight he has hit a rough patch having gone 2-3. His most recent fight was a (T)KO loss to Timur Nadrov at W5 Grand Prix in Russia.

Lerdsila is a former Rajadamnern Stadium champion, he know trains out of Phuket Top Team in Phuket, Thailand. He has been active in China as of late, most recently for Hero Legends. He is known for his evasive style with moves you can only compare to the movie The Matrix.

Two more bouts have also been confirmed for Lion Fight 36. In the co-main event New York’s Brett Hlavacek will take on Paul Banasiak, and in a main card bout WBC Muay Thai national champion Eddie Abasolo will take on PJ Sweda.

Lion Fight 36 will air live on AXS TV.
