UFC women’s straweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has some great striking, which has helped her tremendously in her UFC title run.
A lot of people might not be aware, but she was a legit Muay Thai fighter and Kickboxer before making her move to MMA. Everyone might know her now for looking deadly in the Octagon, but she competed for 10 years in pure striking.
She had a pro record of 27-2, and held several titles. They included a WKN, WMC, and J Girls titles.
She trained with the great Ernesto Hoost. If you don’t know who that is please do yourself a favor and go look him up immediately. She had a nice fast paced fighting style, where she mixed her punches and low kicks together effectively. This is someone that when an announcer says high level striking or world class striking during a UFC broadcast, they aren’t just blowing smoke.
Would have loved to see her continue to kick butt and take names in Muay Thai and Kickboxing. Glad to see she has been so successful in MMA. It is going to be a long night for any challenger trying to take her UFC title from her that decides to stand and trade.
Check out her fight with Satoko Sasaki below.
