UFC 204 takes place this coming Saturday, October 8th in Manchester, England. The night’s main event features none other than Michael Bisping as he attempts to defend his UFC Middleweight Championship against Dan Henderson.
The bout will be Bisping’s first title defense since stunning the world back in June by knocking out Luke Rockhold to claim the title. In the process of his first title defense, Bisping will also be trying to avenge the first knockout loss of his career. Back in 2009 at UFC 100 Bisping fell victim to one of Henderson’s H-Bombs in what was one of the most brutal knockouts you will see. Henderson enters having won his last fight, a KO over Hector Lombard in June. Nearing the end of his career it would be a great swan song for Henderson to win the UFC title that has evaded him throughout his career.
In the night’s co-main event Vitor Belfort will try to rebound from his loss to Ronaldo Souza back in May when he takes on Gegard Mousasi. With his career likely coming to an end soon, Belfort would benefit greatly from a win over a fighter like Mousasi to prove that his late career resurgence had nothing to do with TRT. Mousasi enters the bout having won his last two fights. The Dutch fighter has failed to live up to expectations, coming up short every time he begins to build momentum in his bid for a title shot.
