Kunlun Fight 33 Fight Card

Kunlun Fight 33 takes place this weekend in Changde, China. The main attraction at the even will be the four fights of the Kunlun Fight’s Middleweight Top 16 Tournament. The biggest draw easily being the bout between Yodsanklai Fairtex and Dzhabar Askerov.

Fight Fans expect Yodsanklai to be the tournament winner, he is currently on a 20 fight win streak and has looked unstoppable. Askerov, however, has been known to play spoiler. He holds some big wins over the likes of Enriko Kehl, Steve Moxon, and Andy Souwer in his career.

Australia’s Steve Moxon will also be in action in the tournament against Enriko Gogokhia. Moxon has had mixed results as of late but is coming off a stoppage win over Tass Tsitsiras. The other tournament fights include Kong Linfgeng vs. Wu Xuesong and Amansio Paraschiv vs. Zhang Chunyu.

Also in action at the event will be Steven Banks as he takes on Xiu Pengcheng. Banks has looked great since making the move to Thailand to train at Phuket Top Team and had a successful outing for Kunlun Fight in his last bout. Valentina Shevchecnko vs. Wang Cong also take place on the card as looks to continue her current reign of dominance in the women’s 135lb weight class.

Yodsanklai vs. Dzhabar Askerov set for Kunlun Fight 33

Yodsanklai Fairtex and Dzhabar Askerov are set to fight at Kunlun Fight 33 in Hunan, China on October 31st. Their bout will be part of Kunlun Fight’s Middlweight Top 16 Tournament.

Yodsanklai will be looking to expand his current 20 fight win streak. He last competed at Origins 7 in Australia where he defeated Marco Tentori by decision. Yodsanklai has finished 12 of his 20 opponents during his current win streak. The Thai great has revived his career in the last three years and is one of the biggest Muay Thai fighters in the world.

Askerov will be looking to win his fourth consecutive fight when he faces Yodsanklai. In his last ring appearance he won the Kunlun Fight 29 Middleweight Tournament. He scored a huge victory by KO over Enriko Kehl in the semi-finals of the tournament.

It should be an exciting fight between Yodsanklai and Askerov as neither fighter backs down. Askerov has great boxing and his style is great for the Kickboxing rule set, Yodsanklai has adapted to fighting Kickboxing or Muay Thai rules without and issue and is more than willing to get in to heated exchanges with his opponents.

Yodsanklai set to fight at Thai Fight Vietnam 2015

Muay Thai superstar Yodsanklai Fairtex will be back in action on October 24th for Thai Fight when they present Thai Fight Vietnam 2015 from Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam.

Yodsanklai will improve his already impressive 20 fight win streak. He last competed at Origins 7 in Australia where he defeated Marco Tentori by unanimous decision. 12 of the wins during his impressive run have come by way of (T)KO all though his last three fights have gone the distance. Yodsanklai’s opponent for Thai Fight Vietnam 2015 has not been announced yet.

As usual Thai Fight Vietnam 2015 will also feature a few other regulars for the promotion including Antoine Pinto, Victor Pinto, Saenchai and Saiyok.

Action Pro Gear Fight of the Week: Artur Kyshenko vs. Yodsanklai Fairtex

This week’s Action Pro Gear Fight of the Week features Artur Kyshenko vs. Yodsanklai Fairtex. Most fans probably forget that about 4 years ago it seemed Yodsanklai was on on his way out, but a career resurgence and new dedication has fight fans buzzing about him again. Yodsanklai is currently on a twenty fight win streak, his last defeat was at the hands of Kyshenko in this bout. It took place at Rumble of the Kings 2011 on November 26, 2011 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Kyshenko is considered by many to be the best fighter out of the Ukraine. Since his fight with Yodsanklai he has continued to fight top talent around the world and has gone 14-4.

Origins 7 Results: Yodsanklai takes decision over Tentori

Origins 7 took place this past weekend in Perth, Australia. The main event featured Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Marco Tentori.

Tentori came out aggressive in the bout, throwing strikes in volume. Yodsanklai didn’t seem affected by the volume of strikes that were thrown his way as he calmly held the center of the ring and stalked Tentori. Yodsanklai started to pick up his output in the second round and both fighters were showing a diverse arsenal as they mixed in their kicks, punches, knees and elbows together.

The third round is when Yodsanklai really began to take control despite Tentori throwing more volume. Yodsanklai defended well from most of Tentori’s strikes, and when he did connect they didn’t seem to affect Yodanklai. In the fourth round a well placed elbow opened up a cut over Tentori’s right eye, after Yodsanklai noticed this he targeted the eye a bit more.

Tentori was still game in the final round until with less than a minute to go an elbow from Yodsanklai hurt Tentori, as he tried to back away Yodsanklai followed with a knee and Tentori dropped to his knees and received an 8-count from the referee. Tentori was able to make it to the end of the fight in a valiant effort, but the judges awarded Yodsanklai a unanimous decision. With the win Yodsanklai has now won 20 consecutive fights, and has not lost since November of 2011.

Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Marco Tentori set as main event for Origins 7 on August 8th in Australia

Rumors of Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Giorgio Petrosyan circulated like crazy earlier this week. Although the Thai super star wont be stepping into the ring against Petrosyan, he will be fighting in August. He will be headlining Origins 7 in Perth, Australia against Marco “Machine Gun” Tentori.

Yodsanklai needs little introduction as he is one of the most popular Muay Thai fighters of all time. It seemed his career was coming to an end late 2011, but a new dedication to training saw him storm back into the spotlight in 2012 and has since won 19 consecutive fights. Names like Victor Nagbe, Marat Grigorian, Yohan Lidon, and Kem Sitsonpeenong are among the fighters he has beat during his current run.

Tentori is an ISKA Muay Thai Commonwealth Champion, and has been in the ring with some of Australia’s more recognized fighters. He went the distance with Steve Moxon dropping a decision to him, but holds a decision win over Franki Giorgi. Yodsanklai will easily be the toughest test of Tentori’s career. Known for his rapid fire approach that earned him the nickname “Machine Gun”, Tentori will have to put on the performance of his career against Yodsanklai, and if he does he will immediately garner the attention from Muay Thai fans around the world.

Yodsanklai Fairtex training for T-ONE Promotion

Yodsanklai Fairtex in training to face Victor Nagbe at tomorrow’s T-ONE Promotion in China. He last faced Dzianis Zuev at Kunlun Fights, taking the win by decision. Yodsanklai is widely considered one of the top Thais competing internationally and an extremely tough opponent whether in Muay Thai or under kickboxing rules. Training out of Fairtex Pattaya, Yodsanklai shows here in this training session why he is one of the best in the world today.

Thai Fight 2014 Final Results: Yodsanklai and Saenchai score first round stoppages

The final event of 2014 took place for Thai Fight today and it featured some great finishes by some of the biggest names in Muay Thai. Some of the fights were fought with rope wrapped around the fighters hands like in Muay Boran, while other featured gloves. Yodsanklai Fairtex was in action and he continued to steam roll through the competition. Christophe Pruvost was the victim this time, as soon as this fight began Yodsanklai planted Pruvost on his rear end with straight left. Seconds later a right dropped Pruvost again. Purvost was able to beat the referee’s count both times, but a few seconds after the second knockdown another straight left knocked him down and the referee had seen enough and the fight was stopped. The win is Yodsanklai’s fourth straight by (T)KO, he has not lost a fight since November of 2011 and has now won 16 consecutive fights.

Saenchai scored an exciting knockout over his opponent, Ghilas Barache in the first round of their fight. A lightning fast head kick connected from Saenchai while he had Barache against the ropes and ended the fight. It was a spectacular knockout by Saenchai.

Fight of the Week: Artur Kyshenko vs. Yodsanklai Fairtex

Yodsanklai Fairtex is currently on a 13 fight winning streak, he has not lost since November of 2011. The last man to defeat the Thai legend was Ukraine’s Artur Kyshenko. The pair fought on Rumble of the Kings in an exciting back and forth fight.

For fans who are used to seeing Yodsanklai dominate, they will definitely not see that in this bout. He seemed to be hurt a few times, but was able to survive and then return fire to Kyshenko. Sit back and enjoy the fight. This was definitely one of the bigger wins in Artur Kyshenko’s career as a sound game plan showed he could hang with a legend like Yodsanklai.

Lion Fight 18 Results and Recap

Lion Fight 18 took place last night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event featured a main event title fight between champion Yodsanklai Fairtex and challenger Salah Khalifa. As expected by many Yodsanklai successfully defended his Lion Fight world middleweight title.

Yodsanklai and Khalifa were feeling each other out in the first round, but in the second round Yodsanklai scored with a stinging left straight which he immediately followed up with a knee. Khalifa hit the canvas and tried to pop right back up to his feet but it was clear that he was hurt as his legs were wobbly and he couldn’t move straight. The referee stopped the fight awarding Yodsanklai the second round KO. With the win Yodsanklai has now improved his current winning streak to 13 fights and has not lost since November of 2011.

In the co-main event Jason Andrada looked to rebound from his first career loss against Stan Mancebo and he did just that. The fight went the distance and Andrada scored throughout with big elbows, but Mancebo was game and stayed in front of Andrada the entire fight. In the end the Las Vegas based Andrada took home a unanimous decision to jump back into the winners circle. With the win Andrada now improves his professional record to 6-1.

Nick Chasteen was also looking to rebound from his first career loss when he took on veteran Jose Palacios. After a strong first round Palacios seemed to slow down and he was no longer firing off punches. Chasteen took full advantage of this as he moved well and attacked the lead leg of Palacios. By the end of the bout the lead leg of Palacios was bright red from all of the leg kicks he absorbed throughout the fight and the judges awarded Chasteen a unanimous decision. With the win Chasteen is now 3-1 since going pro, while Palacios has hit a rough patch in his career and drops to 7-8.

Chris Culley and Brian Del Rosario fought for five rounds in an exciting fight that had Culley in full control early before Del Rosario stormed back to try and rally in the later rounds. Culley used a solid counter attack to pull ahead early, even scoring an eight count on Del Rosario in the second round with a perfectly timed counter right hand. Del Rosario got wobbly and his glove touched the canvas. In the third and fourth rounds Del Rosario used some solid clinch work and well placed punches to work his way back into the fight. The fifth round saw both men leave it all in the ring and when it was over the judges awarded Culley a unanimous decision.

The night’s opening bout ended prematurely. After two rounds of action between Damien Earley and Eddie Abasolo it was a close fight. In the third round Abasolo connected with an elbow that forced Earley to turn his back, Abasolo then connected with an illegal 12 to 6 elbow to the back of the head of Earley. The referee separated the fighters and after it was determined that Earley could not continue Abasolo was disqualified.
