Dennis Warner and WCK Muay Thai returned to Pala Casino for a night of Muay Thai action. In the night’s main eventcurrent WBC Muay Thai USA middleweight national champion Craig Buchanan had no problem dispatching of James Martinez in the first round of their bout. Martinez was no match for Buchanan as he landed his strikes on Martinez at will and shrugged off any attack that was presented against him. Buchanan had Martinez in a corner and landed a hard push kick to the diaphragm of Martinez causing him to turn his back to Buchanan. The referee seeing that Martinez was hurt and unable to protect himself called the fight with twelve seconds left in the first round.

MMA fighter Fernando Gonzalez returned to Muay Thai action after dabbling in it a bit last year. Facing him was Heath “Cowboy” Harris, in a fight for the WBC Muay Thai USA national cruiserweight title. Harris had no answer for Gonzalez, he carried himself with confidence as he landed strike after strike on Harris. The pace Gonzalez kept did not allow Harris to utilize his reach advantage. After a series of shots landed by Gonzalez, Harris appeared to be hurt or stunned by the constant onslaught. While against the ropes in attempt to defend and protect himself from the attack, Harris was hit by punch and kick combination, they ended up clinching and Gonzalez forced down the head of Harris and was able to land multiple knees to the head/face of Harris knocking him out at 1:49 in Round 2. Harris stood for the count, but was unable to continue. With the win Gonzalez becomes the new WBC Muay Thai USA national cruiserweight champion.

WBC Muay Thai international champion Romie Adanza was set to defend his title against Suichu Wentz, but a last second change took place that pulled the WBC Muay Thai title from the table. Adanza and Wentz fought in a non title affair instead. Adanza pressed the action the entire fight, although Wentz appeared to be an equally experienced fighter, he could not match the pace and strength of Adanza. Both fighters landed clean strikes, but Adanzalanded the harder more devastating blows of the two fighters. Adanza’s left punch to the body paid huge dividends for him in the fight as he landed it repeatedly as a part of the head body punch combinations that he used so effectively by mixing them up with a series of damaging leg kicks. In the fourth and final round there was a heavy punch exchange between the two fighters, but the crowd favorite Romie Adanza took home the unanimous decision.

Dave Nielsen and Jason Rzepka made their pro debuts against one another. The fight started off slow with neither fighter pressing the action until the end of the round when both fighters ended things with a nice exchange. Nielsen pulled away in rounds two and three as he took control of the fight knocking Rzepka down twice. Nieslen took home a unanimous decision win in his pro debut.

Luis Bio and Kenny Finister met in an exciting fight. The first round was pretty even as they exchanged several leg kicks to the delight of the crowd. Bio favored his hands while Finister favored his kicks, the fight was pretty even in the clinch. In the second round Bio took over after an elbow knocked Finister down. Finister answered the referee’s count, but moments later in the clinch Bio connected some solid punches to set up knees to the body that send Finister down. Bio the current WBC Muay Thai Mexico national middleweight champion took home the second round KO victory.

Julian Lugo and Mike Ryan met in a bad blood match. The fighters had exchanged some serious trash talk between one another leading into their fight and Lugo ended up getting the upper hand. He came in attacking Ryan’s legs with kicks and in only 45 seconds of the first round forced a stoppage due to the leg kicks.

In what was the most exciting fight of the night, Jack Thames and Joe Davidson put on a show for the fans. Both fighter came out swinging and kicking with bad intentions early on. Davidson had the upper hand technically, but the always unorthodox Thames landed several counter shots as Davidson attacked. Thames was able to cut Davidson with an elbow and then Thames began to taunt and rant to the crowd how he cut his opponent with an elbow and seemed to be shifting the momentum of the fight. It seemed this was all the motivation that Davidson needed as he picked the pace up and ended up winning a unanimous decision in his return bout after announcing his retirement last year.
