Conor McGregor is the biggest name in combat sports right now. For this reason everything he does will be scrutinized, no matter how big or small.
Conor, however, isn’t doing himself any favors as he has had a few issues since his 100 million dollar pay day for his bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He recently was in the media for jumping into the Bellator MMA cage to celebrate the victory of stable mate Charlie Ward.
The celebration quickly went south as he had a confrontation with referee Marc Goddard. The referee was trying to attend to the losing fighter, who had been knocked out and tried to stop McGregor from jumping around the ring and in the way of the people trying to tend to the fighter. This led to McGregor getting in the referee’s face and it seemed it was going to turn into a full fledged brawl.
If rumors floating around social media end up being true, then McGregor will likely find himself in more hot water. Apparently he got into a fight and beat up a man at bar in Dublin, Ireland called The Forge. You can see some of what is circulating social media below. Although not details are really known, from the rumors floating around it seems he put a good beating on the man.
There have been no reports about this aside from the rumors on social media, and it should be taken lightly before people start jumping to conclusions. One interesting thing is that as you can see in the third picture down, the official Conor McGregor Twitter account liked a post about it on Twitter. Maybe it is his way of laughing at a ridiculous rumor?
Hopefully these rumors end up not being true, because that could be very damaging to his career.
