Nick Diaz Demands Heavyweight Title Fight For UFC Return

Nick Diaz called out a very unlikely opponent in Daniel Cormier today…

UFC welterweight Nick Diaz spoke up earlier today with some heavy demands for his UFC return, quite literally. Although he has been out of action for some time, Diaz is demanding a title fight for his comeback…

During the last six years, popular UFC star Nick Diaz has fought just three times. His last fight, a no-contest against former middleweight champion Anderson Silva, landed Diaz in hot water with the athletic commission.

Having allegedly failed a drug test for marijuana, Diaz faced a kangaroo court in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Initially hit with a five-year ban, Diaz’s sentence was eventually reduced to 18 months.

Previously inactive due to issues with what he called ‘low pay’ from his employers, Diaz is winless since 2011. Yet he remains one of the biggest draws in many fans and pundit opinions.

Nick Diaz is arguably one of the few fighters left that can sell big pay-per-views, but he hasn’t fought in a long time…

Nick Diaz Announces Comeback Intentions

Earlier this week, absent UFC star Nick Diaz announced his intentions to fight in 2019. Although he has been cleared to fight for some time following the reduction of his ban from NSAC, he has remained inactive.

During his latest activity on the social media platform Instagram, Nick Diaz was quite adamant in the fight he wanted next. Not welterweight, or even middle or light-heavyweight, Nick Diaz wants Daniel Cormier at 265 pounds!

Daniel Cormier vs Brock Lesnar is happening and DC says ‘get over it’

Nick Diaz vs… Daniel Cormier!?!

Perhaps he is just stirring up some hype, but Nick Diaz is certainly saying what many people are thinking. After his comments about Jon Jones and his drug test debacles, it seems ironic that Cormier would fight a jacked drug test popper like Brock Lesnar.

Alternatively, ‘DC’ has fought his heart out for years, just knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226. Maybe he deserves a big money fight before he calls it a career?

What do you think?
