Mike Tyson, former heavyweight champion, and a terrifying knockout artist has been quite vocal about his dislike for Floyd Mayweather. When they met face-to-face, things nearly got out of hand…
Mike Tyson is perhaps the most recognizable name from boxing’s heavyweight division in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Aside from being the youngest heavyweight champion of all-time, Tyson was also a terrifying knockout artist.
Using Cus D’Amato’s patented peek-a-boo style, Tyson would land vicious uppercuts and hooks with brutal impact. Before he met Buster Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, Tyson was 37-0 with 34 knockouts.
Notable victories include Frank Bruno twice, Larry Holmes, Trevor Berbick, Donovan Ruddock twice and more. Most of his fights were preceded by intense rivalries and staredowns.
Now he’s been retired since 2005, but Tyson’s inner animal continues to break out every now and again.
Mike Tyson’s Beef With Floyd Mayweather
Back in 2014, one man who very nearly felt the wrath of Mike Tyson was Floyd Mayweather. The Undefeated champion had recently spoken out against Muhammad Ali, one of Tyson’s idols and friends.
‘Iron Mike’ didn’t take kindly to those words, issuing the following statement:
“If he was anywhere near the level of the great Muhammad Ali, he would be able to take his kids to school by himself.
“He can’t take his kids to school by himself and he’s talking about being great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. Greatness is being accepted by the people. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small scared man,”
Then came the moment Mike Tyson nearly lost control:
Was Mike Tyson just playing, maybe he was going to actually hit Mayweather but had a change of heart? Whatever the case, it would not have been pretty had he actually punched ‘Money.’
Tyson’s history with fighting in the street is well documented, like the time he KO’d actor Wesley Snipes:
“(Mike Tyson) was paging me. I called him back to let him know the situation … Less than ten minutes later, he pulled up in a yellow Testarosa, accompanied by a new bodyguard Anthony Pitts. Anthony was a former professional football player, stood about 6’7, and weighed in around 250. Tyson jumped out of the Ferrari.”

Round One KO
“…When Hope caught sight of him, she practically fell out of Snipes lap and onto the floor. The actor froze then waved a hand”‘Now, Mike, now, Mike, we can do this together. I dont want no problem.
“‘Let’s go into the bathroom!’ Tyson snapped.
“When I returned from the parking lot, I noticed Anthony was blocking the bathroom door. A couple minutes later we heard a big noise inside, and then Tyson emerged alone.
“After he was gone, I cracked open the bathroom door. Wesley Snipes was sitting against the far wall, head tilted to one side, unconscious.”
