K-1 Japan 70 kg Tournament Set For June 18th

K-1 Japan 70 kg Tournament

K-1 has put together a spectacular tournament for June 18th in Japan at the Saitama Super Arena.

The event will feature a who’s who in Kickboxing and Muay Thai. The match-ups for the quarter finals will be Yasuhiro Kido vs. Jordan Watson, Hirono Yu vs. Sanny Dahlbeck, Hiroki Nakajima vs. Chingiz Allazov, and Hinata Watanabe vs. Jordan Pikeur.

You couldn’t ask for a better tournament with some of the best fighter from Japan and internationally, and there are some guys we are really excited to see in the tournament.

Yasuhiro Kido is a long time K-1 veteran that has fought a laundry list of top talent. He will add another top name to his resume when he takes on England’s Jordan Watson.

It will be Watson’s firs time fighting under the K-1 banner since 2007. Although he is known more for his Muay Thai than Kickboxing, he has fought for Glory and Bellator Kickboxing in the past.

Sanny Dahlbeck is another fighter to keep an eye on in the tournament. He has already fought four of the seven other fighters in the tournament in the past. He knocked out Yasuhiro Kido, split a pair of fights with Jordan Watson, scored a (T)KO over Hiroki Nakajima, and lost by (T)KO to Jordan Pikeur.

If Jordan Pikeur can find his way to the finals it would be great to see him fight the likes of Jordan Watson. The pair fought in the past and Watson took home a decision win over Pikeur in Muay Thai rules.

It is very hard to imagine a boring tournament with these fighters being the participants. This is definitely one to make sure you don’t miss.
