Glory 28 will take place on March 12, 2016 in Paris, France. Today the promotion confirmed that there will be three title fights on the night.
Saulo Cavalari (@SauloCavalari) was originally slated to defend his light heavyweight championship against Gokhan Saki, but the Turkish fighter was forced to withdraw from the bout because of an injury. Replacing him is Russia’s Artem Vakhitov (@ArtemVakhitov). Cavalari and Vakhitov have fought before, they met at Glory 20 early in 2015. In a close fight, Cavalari edged out Vakhitov by split decision.
Rico Verhoeven (@RicoVerhoeven) will be defending his heavyweight title as well. Challenging him will be Croatian Mladen Brestovac (@mlbrestovac). Verhoeven will be looking to make his fourth title defense. The Glory heavyweight division is starting to seem thin, Brestovac is only 1-1 for Glory and lost in his last appearance for Glory to Benjamin Adegbuyi by (T)KO. Verhoeven last defended his title this past December with a first round knockout of Adegbuyi.
Featherweight champion Serhiy Adamchuk will be attempting his first title defense as he takes on Mosab Amrani (@mosabjaguar). Adamchuk won his title at Glory 25 with a decision over Gabriel Varga. Amrani earned his title shot with back to back knockouts to win the Glory 26 featherweight contender tournament.
There will also be a lightweight contender tournament taking place at Glory 28.
